Foam Roll/Trigger/Warm-up/Mobilise/Activate

 

1) DB OHS 1 each side – EMOM 10 min (Climb to Max Day)

 

Score = Load

 

Home-based – 5-10 Reps Non-dom Min 1 then other side min 2 (10 min)

 

Score = Sum of Body Weight x Reps x Load

50 dumbbell shoulder-to-overheads

50 dumbbell deadlifts

50 GHD sit-ups

100 single-arm dumbbell overhead squats

50 GHD sit-ups

50 dumbbell deadlifts

25-minute time cap

 

Score = Time/TC plus 1 sec/rep missed

 

Scaling:

Reduce the load on the dumbbell. Newer athletes should also reduce the overall volume of this workout. All athletes should be wary of the two large sets of GHD sit-ups.

Rx – DB/KB/B-pack 25 reps on 22.5/15kg

GHD SU sub – Weighted Sit-up (strict)

Int1 – 22.5/15kg;

Int2 – 20/15kg; 35 GHD SU e/W-SU 45/45

Dave represented Africa as an Individual at the 2012 & 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games. Dave placed 2nd in the Mens 40-44 yrs at the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games and 5th in 2019. He has coached a number of athletes to Regionals, including Eva Thornton to the Reebok CrossFit Games (4th place Masters 45-49 yrs 2015 /12th place Masters 45-49 yrs 2017 / 1st Place “Fittest Women on Earth” for 50-54 yrs 2018).
